The Story of The Holiday Honor Card
This year is the 32nd anniversary of The Honor Card, designed by artist William “Bill” Mangum. Since 1988, this fundraiser has raised more than $7 million for people in need in North Carolina.
The theme of this year’s card, You're Gonna Be OK, and was inspired by the impact of what the coronavirus has done to our lives and the world around us. The theme reminds us that although we are all facing unprecedented challenges this holiday season, if we stick together as neighbors and support one another, we will indeed all be OK. With your support of the Honor Card program, funds raised are used to assist our neighbors in need with food, clothing, and services to help them realize their full potential.
For a minimum $5 donation per card, buyers receive a beautiful card that is given in the person’s honor at the holidays – and 100% of the donation goes directly to Fayetteville Urban Ministry. Expenses for the production of the card are underwritten by William Mangum, an anonymous donor, and the Wells Fargo Foundation.
In Fayetteville, Honor Cards are available beginning in early November at Fayetteville Urban Ministry. Cards can also be purchased here on our website.
