Did you see them during the rhythm of your day?

Did you see the woman and her children in the car next to yours? They have been to Fayetteville Urban Ministry’s clothes closet and food pantry. The children found uniforms for school, while their mother left with food for the table.

Emergency Assistance (EA) is a place where clients are able to “shop”, at no cost, for clothing (including school uniforms), small household items (linens and bedding), hygiene kits, toys and books in a store-like environment. The store has a dedicated group of volunteers, who assist clients in finding what they need and keep the racks ready to shop.

Emergency food assistance is available for families facing an immediate crisis.

Annually, the EA program works with the Salvation Army in the Christmas Opportunities program. Together these organizations provided 1000 families with Holiday Food Bags and Gifts of Toys. Food Drives to support this effort include the WTVD Heart of Carolina Food Drive, Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Singing Christmas tree, employees of Cape Fear Valley Health System and employees of Cumberland County.
